Define Certification Levels

Typically, certification standards offer various levels (or ratings) which your building earn. The rating that your building is awarded is determined by the score that it earns in the assessment.

For example, BREEAM offers six ratings, ranging from Acceptable to Outstanding, that correspond to the number of credits that the building has earned. As part of defining your certification standard, you need to enter the various levels, and the points required for each.

To define your standard's levels:

Review your standard's documentation for background on the certification standard's levels and the point range for each level.
On the Process Navigator, choose Define Certification Levels.
Choose the Certification Standard for which you want to define levels.
Choose Add New.
In the right pane, complete the following fields:

Level	Enter a certification level, such as Outstanding, Passing, Needs Improvement.
Minimum Score/Maximum Score	Enter the numbers that define the score range for this level.

Including a "Not Certified" Value

Note that as part of the Scoring - Track process, you have the opportunity to enter your current certification level by completing the Certified Level field of the Rating Projects table. You will do so by choosing a value from the list of values defined with this task. Therefore, if you are just starting out with the certification process and are not yet certified, you may wish to enter a value of "Not Certified" in this table so that this value will be available for you to choose for the Certified Level field of the Rating Projects table.

For a Not Certified record, you can enter a score range that is less than the minimum value to obtain certification. For information on the Certified Level field, see Defining a Rating Project.
