This section describes signing in as a registered or guest user.
You start the ARCHIBUS Welcome page by clicking on a Web URL. The ARCHIBUS Web Central URL is typically in the form http://myserver:8080/archibus. You can access the URL link by:
If you are a registered user, you must have a user name, password, default locale (language), and security profile established by your system administrator. Your system administrator will also define which applications, processes, and roles you can access.
On the Sign-In page you select a project and enter your user name and password. You also have the option to change the language for the session.
To sign in as a registered user:
Note: Your default language is determined by your Locale setting. You can change your default Locale setting on the My User Profile page. You can also use this page to change your password (if allowed). For information, see Changing Your Preferences.
If you do not have (or need) a registered account on the system, you can access the ARCHIBUS Web Central self-service portal by logging in using a guest account. Guest access can vary, as dictated by organizational needs. Typical guest account applications include locating employees, booking conference rooms, and printing out visitor passes.
If ARCHIBUS Web Central has been configured to accommodate guest user accounts, you can click the Guest Sign In button and access limited functionality as established by the systems administrator.
If your user name is not recognized, verify your project selection. You may not have an account for the selected project. Contact your system administrator if you are not sure which projects you are authorized to access.
If you are running two instances of Web Central from different ports on the same server, when you switch browser tabs between the two Web Central instances, Web Central requires re-authentication. This means that you cannot stay logged in to both services simultaneously.
If you need to work from two Web Central instances running from the same server, you will need to sign in each time you switch between the Web Central instances.
Your login session may operate within a Virtual Private ARCHIBUS (VPA) partition, which restricts the data that the program presents. If you see fewer records or fewer columns of data than a colleague and are using the same link, the reason is typically that you have different VPA restrictions.
If you believe you ought to see additional data, contact your system administrator to request a change in your access rights.
