Working with the Explorer Pane

From the Explorer pane you select tasks or drawings, or can create new views. The Explorer pane has the following tabs:

Note: From the Smart Client Extension for AutoCAD, the Explorer pane holds only the Navigator and Drawings tabs.

• Navigator tab: Presents the Process Navigator, a lists of your assigned tasks by process. These tasks can include application commands, forms, and reports, presented as either grid or Web views. When you select a task, it loads in the Details area. See Loading Views Using the Process Navigator.

  The Navigator tab can also include drawing tasks. When you select a drawing task, you are presented with the Drawings list from which you select a drawing.

• Views tab: Use the Views tab to create new grid views or add tables to existing grid views. You can review the fields included in a table and the table's underlying schema. See Creating New Grid Views.
• Favorites tab: Lists your frequently accessed views that have been added to your Favorites list. When you select a view, it loads in the Details pane. The Favorites tab includes a filter row to help you quickly locate the favorite view you want to access. See Working with Your Favorite Views.
• Drawings tab: This tab presents the Drawing List, a list of the drawings in the project. The Drawings tab includes a filter row to help you quickly locate the drawing you want to work on. See Working with the Drawings List.

The Explorer Pane for the ARCHIBUS Smart Client Extension for AutoCAD or the DWG Editor

From the ARCHIBUS Smart Client Extension for AutoCAD or the DWG Editor, the Process Navigator pane holds two tabs:

• Navigator: Selecting this tab shows the Process Navigator, a list of your assigned tasks for the drawing environment.
• The Drawings List. When you select a drawing from the Drawing List, you can open the drawing, view properties for it, or add or remove a drawing from the Drawing List. These commands happen right within the Extension; the Drawing List does not have to load AutoCAD or task-switch to it before invoking the command on the selected drawing.

Procedure: Resizing the Explorer Pane

You can resize the Explorer pane by mousing over its edge, and clicking and dragging the splitter

Procedure: Hiding or Docking the Explorer Pane

You can dock the Explorer pane or hide it to increase your workspace.

To hide/show the Explorer pane:

1. To hide the Explorer pane, click Navigator/Hide on the Ribbon.
2. To show it, click Show. The Show command is available if the Explorer pane is hidden.

To dock/undock the Explorer pane:

Click the thumb tack in the Explorer title bar.

To undock the pane:

1. Mouse over the word Explorer at the left of the screen to temporarily show the Explorer pane.
2. To undock the pane, click the sideways thumb tack in the Explorer title bar.
