Managing the Smart Client: Overview

The Smart Client grid includes features that facilitate bulk data updates, and data review and analysis. Power users will use these features as they manipulate data, create new views, and analysis reports.

This section includes the following topics:

Bulk Edit Data: Copy and paste a single cell or a single row of data, or replace entire columns of data. See Copying and Pasting Data and Replacing Columns.
Customizing Data in Grid Views: Use a variety of features, such as filtering, selecting fields, sorting, and reordering columns, to customize data display. You can save these customized views to your favorites.
Comparing and Analyzing Data: Create analysis reports or arrange the screen to display your drawing and grid data side-by-side.You can filter views to reflect the asset symbols in an active drawing, or highlight asset symbols in a drawing that correspond to a selected group of records shown in the grid.
Data Transfer: Transfer Data to Excel format. After reviewing or manipulating the data in Excel, you can transfer the data back into your ARCHIBUS project.
