As business changes and departments expand, contract, and merge with other departments, facility managers need to re-assign space to departments. For example, a new business initiative might require more space for a particular department or a corporate reorganization might require that a department reduce its size and give up space.
The facility manager can make these types of changes and immediately see the new departmental allocation on the floor plan. Working from the floor plan enables you to see how space is allocated throughout the floor so that you know how your changes integrate with the entire floor configuration. For example, if you have a choice of assigning one of three vacant offices to a department, visually seeing the location of these offices can be an important factor in deciding which one to assign.
