A form of data that is attached to individual drawing entities, but is hidden from view. The ARCHIBUS Smart Client Extension for AutoCAD or the DWG Editor store an asset symbol's primary key and table name as extended entity data. When you select an asset symbol in a drawing, the programs use the key value in the extended entity data to find the corresponding record in the asset table.
In the ARCHIBUS environment, extended entity data also includes other information about asset symbols, such as standards and user overrides to the default asset text position and justification. Extended entity data is also known as "xdata."
