A schedule for an item that falls on a pattern, such as every Saturday, the first Monday of the month, the 10th day of the month, once a year on a specific date, every three months on the 15th, and so on.
ARCHIBUS applications such as Environmental Health & Safety and Compliance enable the user to define a scheduling pattern and then generate items based on this pattern.
For example, in EH&S, you might define a pattern for having an employee take a refresher safety training course twice a year. In defining the pattern, you can specify that the event occur every 6 months on the first Wednesday of the month. You can then generate the training requirements for this employee, and the system will automatically generate records for this pattern.
