Deleting Rooms

In most cases, you will be editing the properties of existing rooms. However, you may need to delete rooms if a lease has changed and this room is no longer available to you or you are reconfiguring space and tearing down the walls and partitions that make rooms.

You can delete rooms directly from the CAD drawing by running the Assign Room Attributes and Occupancy task.

Procedure

1. In the Process Navigator, choose the Assign Room Attributes and Occupancy task.

2. The system presents a filter console, and a drill-down tree for selecting the floor plan.

• If you have several records to drill through, you may wish to use the filter at the top of the view. The filter limits the drill-down frames to showing just the data that you indicate in the filter.
• For example, if you want the drill-down frames to present only floors in the HQ building, set the Building Code to HQ in the filter console.

3. Select the floor housing the room you wish to delete. The drill-down frame presents only those floors for which CAD drawings have been developed.
4. Once you select the floor, the system presents its drawing in the right pane.
5. Right-click on a room and choose Edit Room from the pop-up menu.
6. The system presents a form with this room's properties. Choose the Delete button in the upper right corner of the form.
7. The system deletes the Room record (and any associated Workspace Transaction records). In the drawing, you will see that the room data has been removed from the polyline; that is, the polyline no longer shows a highlight, room number, occupancy assignment, and so forth.
