Known limitations of this version of ARCHIBUS
Changes in this version of all ARCHIBUS programs
- Language Support. Full support has been added for Dutch, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese.
- Internationalization. This version has been fully internationalized and tested so that it can be adapted to non-English languages and regions without engineering changes.
-
ARCHIBUS User Help. ARCHIBUS V.21.3 User Help is available for French, German, Spanish, and Italian. These translated help topics are available in the archibus_help.war file on the product DVD, as well as on the ARCHIBUS web site. Prior to this release, non-English ARCHIBUS Help included the enterprise user help topics, all of which were translated. Now, non-English ARCHIBUS Help includes the comprehensive set of help topics -- with some topics in the translated language and others in English -- so that all available help information is conveniently accessible to navigation and search.
Changes in this version of ARCHIBUS Help
- Installing ARCHIBUS User and System Management Help. ARCHIBUS User Help and System Management Help are no longer automatically installed. For the full Smart Client build, the product DVD has instructions on how to install the online help locally by unzipping the archibus_help.war file found on your product DVD. For other deployments, check the application server-specific instructions in System Management Help.
- Help commands for Smart Client and Smart Client Extensions for CAD. The Help commands in the Smart Client and Smart Client Extensions for AutoCAD, Revit, and DWG Editor now first look for ARCHIBUS Help on the ARCHIBUS web site. If your corporate security policies block the Help commands from accessing online help from an external web site, the Help commands will look for the online help on the local network. This requires that you locally install the help from the product DVD. (3046827)
- URL Changes for Help Systems on the ARCHIBUS web site. The directory structure for ARCHIBUS User Help found on the ARCHIBUS web site has changed to include a \user_<locale> directory. The System Management Help directory structure has also changed. These changes were made in order to standardize the directory structure between locally-installed help and web-hosted help. The below table lists these changes.

Changes in this version of ARCHIBUS Mobile
- Syncing documents that exceed the maximum size allowed on Android devices. Previously, on Android devices, users experienced difficulties in attaching and syncing documents larger than the maximum size allowed on Android of (1MB). Furthermore, newly registered users had difficulties in downloading background data that contained documents larger than the maximum size allowed on Android. These have been resolved. (3046719, 3046449, 3046313, 3046050)
- Pagination for mobile synchronization of large data sets. Previously, the ARCHIBUS mobile applications downloaded with difficulty large data sets, due to device-limited memory. In the previous releases, the problem was reported as a known limitation. Now, the ARCHIBUS mobile applications download data and display it in pages to allow the mobile device to process the records without exceeding the device memory limitations. However, please be advised synchronizing large data sets might take a longer time depending on your data connection quality, signal strength and speed, mobile operating system, and mobile device performance. (3045698, 3046264)
- Improved security. Upgraded the ARCHIBUS Android Mobile Client platform to Android Cordova 3.5.1, in order to fix the security vulnerability announced by the Apache Cordova Android team for the version 3.5.0.(3046053)
- Server connection. Improved error handling and messages when trying to connect from the ARCHIBUS Mobile Client to the ARCHIBUS Web Central server using the wrong URL. (3045823)
- Support for specific configurations. The ARCHIBUS Mobile Client 1.0 now connects successfully to the ARCHIBUS Web Central 21.2 configured for SSO with certificates. (3046124)
Changes in this version of Smart Client
- Connecting to the Web Central server. A problem with the Smart Client connecting to the Web Central server using HTTPS when the SSLv3 cipher suite is disabled has been resolved. Note that this change is not compatible with the DWG Editor (3045968)
Changes in this version of ARCHIBUS Reservations Plugin for Microsoft Outlook
Changes in this version of ARCHIBUS Reservations application
- Attendees timeline and time zone conversions Some issues related to time zone conversions in the Attendees timeline when the application was not configured to have Exchange integration have been resolved. (3046840, 3046833).

-
Paginated report titles now display in the correct position (3042854).
- Cross-table pipe delimiter. Modified cross-table delimiter feature to correctly handle data values with vertical pipe character, such as problem types. (3040566) Changed the character sequence used to separate multiple dimension values for cross-table. This character sequence is used internally and is not recommended for use in applications. If you have copied code from Energy Management Cash Flow report, you need to review and possibly update your code. The previously used separator value is '|' (vertical pipe character). The new separator value is ', U+200C' (comma, space, zero-width non-joiner Unicode character). The new separator is can be referenced in Java Script code as Ab.form.Form.MULTIPLE_VALUES_SEPARATOR. (3045537)

- Web Central browser. If you wee using page navigation, certain chart and drawing views (e.g. the Cost Analysis task from the Quick Start home page) would load, but then give an error when you clicked the page navigator home tab. This has been resolved. (3042702)
Changes in Smart Client Extensions for AutoCAD and Revit, and DWG Editor V.21.3.3.697
- Publish Enterprise Graphics. Sample Geodata. You can add geodata that illustrate the KML publishing for the HQ project. Start the Smart Client and import the files with geolocation information. These are in the \projects\hq\datafeeds\solutions\gis\ files. Import them one by one in numeric order. When importing 5_hq_property_geo.csv, turn off validation to get the use and zoning information in this file, which uses a wider range of enumerated values than the default schema. This differences does not affect your data's functionality. To publish KML, load AutoCAD, invoke the Publish Enterprise Graphics command, use the Options/GIS tab to turn on JSON/Apply Geospatial Offset toggle and the KML/Publish with JSON toggle. For examples of Revit drawings that are georeferenced, refer to the databases\Esri\drawings\ subfolder on the release disk. (3045746)
- Publish Enterprise Graphics. Publishing KML Data. To use the KML features of the GIS tab of the Publish Enterprise Graphics command, you must have georeference information for your AutoCAD drawings and Revit models, as ARCHIBUS publishes the information relative to the building's latitude, longitude and rotation. To import sample georeference information into the HQ sample database, start the Smart Client, sign in to the database, and use the Smart Client Data Transfer command to import the files in \projects\hq\datafeeds\solutions\gis\.
- Options button added to the Publish Enterprise Graphics form (3044316)
- Asset Text Generation Style values now work with Asset labels in AutoCAD (3039490)
- Reconcile command is significantly faster than in prior releases.
- In Revit, publishing face-based family symbols is now supported (3044665)
- Start or Stop Reactors Command. The problem of this command on the Utilities ribbon menu defaulting to false by default has been resolved. (3028172)
Changes in the Reservations Plugin for Microsoft Outlook V.21.3.3.697
- Adjusting the time. The problem of adjusting the time for a reservation by clicking and dragging the edges of the slider in the time line has been resolved. (3040864)
- Daylight Savings Time. Previously, the Plugin did not consider if there were a change of time due to daylight savings in the middle of the recurrence and would show a room as available (although would not let the user reserve the unavailable room). This problem has been resolved. (3044017)
- Choosing a daily pattern. Previously, if you tried to select the pattern "Daily: Every weekday" the application presented an error message. This has been corrected. (3044018)
Changes in Real Estate Portfolio Management V.21.3.3.697
- Lease Contacts table. New schema table were added to track multiple contact assignments to multiple lease agreements. New Lease Contacts (ls_contacts) table has two-part primary key using validated foreign keys for Lease Code and Contacts Code. Contacts are now allowed to be assigned to multiple leases. (3043552)
- Financial paginated report. All REPM financial paginated reports--such as Rent Roll, Property Abstract, and Building Abstract-- now consider the user's choice in the VAT dialog regarding Total Cost, VAT Only, or Base Cost. (3033701)
Changes in Capital Project Management V.21.3.3.697
Project Management
Changes in Space Planning & Management V.21.3.3.697
- New Employees and over-capacity rooms (workspace transactions). A problem with employees being added to the Employees table and not getting logged in history if the room was over capacity has been resolved. (3042668)

- Area on PDF report legend. PDF reports from the Space Console include an Area column in the legend. (3041487)
- Display units. A problem with views not showing area and currency in the user’s display units has been resolved. (3041976, 3042034)
-
Space Console. Scrolling. The problem of scrolling the Space Console in IE8 causing a runtime error has been resolved. (3043584).
Changes in Building Operations V.21.3.3.697
- Problem Class. In Define Problem Types, the Problem Class field for newly defined Problem Types defaults to both empty and required. This forces the user to select the correct Problem Class instead of the previous default of “N/A”. (3045092)
- Group by Work Order. In the Building Operations Console, the user can group by Work Order even if WorkRequestsOnly = ‘1’. This allows grouping of PM Work Orders as needed. In addition, the user may show Work Order, PM Procedure, and PM Schedule in the grid, and Date to Perform in the Work Request Details pop-up. (3044836)
- Indicate on Drawing. The ability to redline drawings is available on the Building Operations Console, in the Work Request Details pop-up. (3044356)
- Multiple work team assignments. You can now assign craftspersons to more than one work team. If you have already updated to the Building Operations Console in v.21.2, and want to upgrade to v.21.3 to take advantage of the new ability to assign craftspersons to more than one work team, you would need to run the following SQL script to set up your existing craftsperson / work team relationships. For information, see http://www.archibus.com/ai/abizfiles/v21.3_help/archibus_help/user_en/archibus.htm#../Subsystems/webc/Content/fim/on_demand/console_upgrade.htm#upgrade_bldg_ops_v212_to_v213
Changes in Environmental Risk & Management V.21.3.3.697
Multiple Environmental & Risk Applications
- Map report updates. While updating the application map views to use the improved standard map features in Web Central, we also effected numerous functional and cosmetic improvements to the map views.
MSDS
- Searching in MSDS Consoles. The problem with entering a tic mark--that is, a string including a quote (aka "inverted comma") character--in a search field for the MSDS consoles has been resolved. (3042191)
- Define MSDS - Download MSDS Document: Download MSDS Document: The previous limitation of 512 characters for automated download of MSDS documents via web url or file name has been removed. (3041729)
Environmental & Health Safety
- Cascading rescheduling of training. Previously, if an training coordinator wished to reschedule training events built on a recurrence pattern to which employees had already been assigned, the user would need to update each assigned employee’s assigned training event schedule. Now, the application allows users to cascade schedule changes out to all existing employee assignments. (3044590)
Energy Management
- New meter analytics. With V.21.3, user can import time series energy consumption data from utility meters and submeters. Users can associate the data with locations including site, building, floor, room, zone, and equipment. Two report views support groupings by meter or building and report in normalized time intervals ranging from years to months, weeks, and hours.
- New bill connector import management. A new task allows users to manage associations between vendors’ bills and Connector configurations. A “Load Bills” task enables users to execute Connectors to import utility bill information from external sources. The Load Bills process provides an option to automatically perform roll-up calculations and archive the data for reporting.
Changes in Workplace Services V.21.3.3.697
Reservations
- BL, FL or RM IDs contain at least one dash. Previously, if the Building Code, Floor Code, or Room Codes contained at least one dash, the application showed an error message and could not create the reservation. This has been corrected. (3044009)
- Recurring reservations and rooms not shown as available. Previously, if you created a recurring reservation and a room was not available for even one occurrence of the meeting series, the room was not shown in the list. This prevented the requestor from booking the room that has the least conflicts, and using a different room for the conflicting dates. Now, the application handles conflicts so that if there's no room available for all dates, the system shows any room that is available for at least 50% of the dates. Also, now the application has a view to resolve the conflicts, which shows automatically after the meeting is created(3043581)
- New reservation and filter. The problem of the Create Room Reservation view failing if you enter an invalid Building Code in the Filter has been resolved. (3042126)
- Exchange Configuration. Listener not enabled. This problem has been resolved.
When Reservations is configured for Exchange integration but the listener is not enabled, the following can occur:
(a) If a recurring reservation is removed from Exchange, but not from Web Central, when editing one or all occurrences of this recurring reservation in Web Central, the corresponding meetings are not generated or updated in Exchange.
(b) If one occurrence of a recurring meeting's date or time was changed in Exchange when the listener was not enabled, and thus the changes were not applied in Web Central, if you then try to edit the occurrence in Web Central, the meeting is not found and can't be updated in Exchange.
These issues occur only for recurring reservation when the listener is not enabled. For single reservation, whether or not the listener is enabled, and for recurring reservations when the listener is enabled, these issues do not occur. (3040346)
Known limitations of this version of ARCHIBUS
The following are known issues with this version of ARCHIBUS.
ARCHIBUS Help known limitations
- Internet Explorer. Table of Contents. On IE7 and on IE9 in compatibility mode, the help system's Table of Contents properly aligns the icon with the text on long entries. However, if IE9 users turn off compatibility mode, the Table of Contents displays incorrectly.
- Internet Explorer. Searching. For all versions of IE, when you search and then choose a topic from the Search Results. the system correctly goes to the topic. However, if you now choose the IE Back arrow to return to the Search Results, the help system displays its home page. Choosing the Back arrow again brings you to the Search Results. (3039554)
- Internet Explorer 9. Process Navigator's Help command. On IE9, right-clicking on a Process Navigator role or process in Web Central does not call the corresponding help topic for this process or role. Instead, you receive the home page of the help system. You can then use the Contents, Index, or Search features to move to the appropriate topic. This is not an issue for other browsers. (3039160)
- Google Chrome v20. The search highlight will not show in the topic unless the help system is on a server. Also, if you run Web Central on Google Chrome v20, the Help window does not display correctly. Updating to Google Chrome v21 solves the problem. (3036825
- Google Chrome. Navigation buttons. If you call ARCHIBUS Help from Web Central using the Help command or from the Process Navigator or a navigation page, the Back and Forward Chrome navigation buttons do not display; thus, as you jump to various topics, you cannot use the Back button to go to a previously-viewed topic. As a work-around, you can use the right-click Back and Forward commands. Or, instead of accessing the Help system from Web Central, create a bookmark for the help system's URL and use this bookmark to access ARCHIBUS Help. (3043685)
- Right-click Help command for processes on Navigation (Home) pages. From the Applications navigation page, choose an application, right click on an application's process, choose the Help command, and you will access the help topic that overviews this process. Although the help system displays its Table of Contents pane, the help system does not update the Table of Contents pane to show you this topic's location in the Table of Contents, as does the Process Navigator's right-click Help command. (3047061)
- Running Help Systems in browsers with debug settings turned on.You may encounter error messages when running ARCHIBUS Help and System Management Help if your browser is set to debug mode, such as IE8 users turning on Tools->Internet Options->Advanced->Settings->Browsing->Display a notification about every script error. If you clear these types of settings, the help systems will run without presenting error messages (3039524)
Mobile known limitations
- Redlining a zoomed drawing. If you add a redline when the drawing is zoomed in, the redline may appear very large on the drawing when not zoomed. The work-around is to move the redline object to the center of the screen; or, zoom out to place the redline and then zoom in before saving.(3045386)
- Solution Templates app. Due to network performance, the Solution Templates sometimes do not load background data. The workaround is to load other apps to get the data and then work with the Solution Templates.(3044975)
- Maintenance app. Sync, When a user performs a Sync action on the mobile Maintenance application, any craftspersons hours data (such as Actual Hours or Overtime Hours) can be overwritten if those hours were entered in Web Central. (3045897)
- Maintenance app. Upgrading. If you are upgrading from an older version and you have existing service requests or work requests that do not have a Building, then you will run into this problem. A workaround is to edit the records from Smart Client or SQL and provide a value for the Site and Building fields. (3045895)
- Space & Occupancy Survey app. Sample data. When a user selects the site ATHENS-U from the sample data, the site map shows two buildings. One is SRL, which belongs to the site ATHENS-U, and other is BOSMED, which belongs to the site BOSSTE and should not appear on this site map. This is due to an error in the sample data. Follow these instructions to correct the error and remove the BOSMED building from the ATHENS-U site map:
1. Start the Smart Client, load any grid view.
2. Invoke Data Transfer, from the View group of the ribbon menu.
3. Select Transfer In and the Local File option.
4. Browse to the file <workgrpsvr>\projects\users\public\dt\abmobilespaceoccsurvey-bl-BOSMED_dwg_name.csv.(3045889)
- Space & Occupancy Survey app. Redlines on iOS 7.0.3. . The redline feature does not work in the Space & Occupancy Survey App on Apple iOS 7.0.3. The solution is to upgrade to 7.0.4 or later. (3045485)
- Asset & Equipment Survey app. Create New Survey. Sybase 9 Runtime. If you are running Sybase 9 Runtime, you will encounter a table-definition error when attempting to create a new survey. This is not an issue if you run Sybase Web Edition. (3042387)
- Asset & Equipment Survey app. Selecting rooms.. Only the room text is selectable on the floor plan. Increase the text size to make it easier to select the room. (3045949)
- Mobile security groups and schema database..System administrators need to add the '%MOB' security groups to the afm_groups table in a blank schema database. (3045646)
- Mobile Framework. Low memory conditions. Under low memory conditions, your mobile device may remove the ARCHIBUS applications from memory. If this happens, ARCHIBUS will resync the apps the next time you start with a wifi connection to the server. If you do not have a wifi connection when next you start the device, iOS will display a blank screen and Android devices will display a "URL not available" message. To rectify the condition, simply start the device again when you do have a wifi connection, and the resync will proceed normally.
-
Mobile Framework. Localizing mobile apps. If you want to translate the mobile UI into your own language, such as Portuguese, you follow the same process as documented for Web Central but rename the file generated by the localization kit from lang_xx.js (where xx is a number like 01, 02 ...) to lang_lc.js (where lc is the locale code). For example, if you want to add a Portuguese locale of pt_PT, the localization kit will generate a file for the mobile device such as lang_01.js. This file should be renamed to lang_pt.js. Also note that it is not possible in mobile to have different UI translations for different regions of the same language (such as French Canadian or Spanish Mexican), although this is supported in Web Central. (3046373)
- Android devices. SVG files. SVG files larger than 1MB do not load on Android devices (but do on iOS devices). The root cause is that the native Android implementation of SQLite limits the cursor size to 1 MB. This issue typically affects just large site plans. You can reduce the size of SVG files by using the Options ARCHIBUS provides in the Publish Enterprise Graphics command. Changing the default precision from 2 decimal places to 1 (eg. to 1" for Imperial drawings) often saves 20% of the file size. Using the options for short symbol names and short style names also shrinks the file. Simplifying walkways, trees, and hatches can further reduce the file size. (3045764)
-
Android devices. Documents and sync performance Large amounts of document or image data can adversely affect the sync performance on Androids. The file size limit for displaying documents and images on Android devices is approximately 375 KB. The size is approximate because documents and images are converted from binary to a base64 character encoding, and the conversion adds approximately 30% to the file size. Since the document data is included in the application sync, if a user includes megabytes of data in the sync, the sync might fail. There is not a size limit for iOS devices. (3046313)
- Microsoft Surface. Zooming HTML5 charts. For MS Surface with Windows 8.1 Pro and IE 11 (Full Windows Touch support with 10 Touch Points), when you zoom a chart with by touching it, the system does not respond to your finger movement; instead the system decides the area of the chart to zoom. This is not an issue when using the keyboard’s left mouse click and slide. ARCHIBUS, Inc. is currently investigating this behavior with Microsoft. (3044792)
- Samsung Galaxy 5 v4.4.2. By default, the phone's auto-completion is set to On so that you may have trouble entering your user name in the registration screen. You may need to disable autocomplete so that you can enter the user name. For information, see http://www.androidcentral.com/how-turn-and-autocorrect-samsung-galaxy-s5. (3045865)
- iOS8. Photos On iOS8, when using the iPad, taking photos in landscape orientation will cause a screen refresh issue. This issue does not affect the iPhone. Returning the iPad to portrait orientation will resolve the issue. (ARCHIBUS, Inc. has not verified compatibility with iOS8.)
Web Central known limitations
- Publishing navigation pages. Help extension for the incorrect user locale. The Web Central Help command points to the Help locale of the user who published the roles and not to the user for the role that has been published. If Web Central is only in one language, then there is no problem because Sys Admin locale is the same as the users' locale. Also if Web Central is multilingual but each Sys Admin for each language publishes for their own language, there is no issue. (3046905)
- Data Transfer. Linux. Java 1.6. If you encounter errors using Data Transfer when running Linux with Java 1.6, upgrade to Java 1.7. (3045880)
- Logging. If you use the Jetty application server, the ARCHIBUS security extensions for Spring log their diagnostic and error messages to the server console instead of to the archibus.log file. Should you wish these messages to go to the log file, first remove
slf4j-api-1.3.1.jar
, slf4j-simple-1.3.1.jar
, and jcl104-over-slf4j-1.3.1.jar
from the C:\Program Files (x86)\ARCHIBUS\21.3\jetty\lib\jsp-2.0\ folder. Then download commons-logging-1.1.1.jar
from http://archive.apache.org/dist/commons/logging/binaries/ and copy it to that folder. (3030057)
- Navigation pages and SSO. If your site uses single-sign on, and you are working with Navigation Pages, and you leave the page open until your session times out, the product mistakenly redirects you to a login page the next time you use that browser window. If this condition occurs, close your Web browser and reopen it before accessing Web Central. The product will then sign you in automatically per usual. This issue does not affect the Process Navigator interface and it does not affect users who use the Sign Out button or who close their Web browser to end their Web Central session. (3045627)
- Exporting to PDF. To support double-byte characters (Chinese, Korean, Japanese) in exporting PDF reports, the application server machine must have Microsoft Office or Microsoft Word installed (3042941).
- Adobe Live Cycle PDF reports. The Adobe Live Cycle PDF output reuses the same file name by default, so users may need to clear their browser cache to see changes to the data or restrictions reflected in the report output. This issue does not apply to standard "PDF" output actions in Web Central, but only to the forms with custom layouts such as the OSHA forms produced by the EH&S application and Hazardous Waste Manifest documents from the Waste Management application. (3039687)
- Sybase Web Edition database engine While using Web Central with Sybase Web Edition database engine, you might receive an error in the WEB-INF/archibus.log file stating that the database server connection limit was exceeded. The error message reads: java.sql.SQLException: [Sybase][JDBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]Database server connection limit exceeded at sybase.jdbc.sqlanywhere.IDriver.makeODBCConnection.
To fix this issue you need to tweak the value of maxActive
in the ARCHIBUS\WEB-INF\config\context\compatibility\afm-config.xml
file. (3043397)
To do so:
1. In the afm-config.xml file, search for "Sybase-WebEdition" to find the attribute.
2. Reduce the value for maxActive
. The right value might be any value less than 10 except 0. The below example shows a value of 4.
type="Sybase-WebEdition"
<connectionPool
maxActive="4"
- Dashboards and scroll bars. If you open from a navigation page a dashboard view that displays multiple frames, you may find that the scroll bars remain active if you move the mouse completely outside the panel. Click anywhere in the panel to deactivate the scroll bar. You may also find that when you move the mouse outside the panel, scrolling stops immediately or that the scroll bars disappear even though mouse button is pressed. Scrolling resumes if you move mouse back inside panel without releasing mouse button. (3043205)
- Edit Forms. Safari. If you start an edit form in ARCHIBUS Web Central, but then use the multi-touch feature to navigate away from that form before you save, you will lose your changes. Also, you will have better results if you have the scroll bar visible all the time and you scroll using the scroll bar instead of smooth-scrolling from the mouse pad. To do so, in the Apple MacBook go to System Preferences/General/Show Scroll Bars and set this option to Always. (3036034)
- Gantt Charts. Apple OS. Gantt charts do not correctly display months in the top calendar when using Apple Safari and Apple Firefox . (3036041)
- Deleting Records. Firefox. Firefox has a security feature that prevents malicious sites from creating the same dialog box over and over again. If you use a view's Delete button to delete 12 records in a row, the system cannot re-present the view's dialog box and presents an error message. (3034849)
To change this behavior:
1. Start Firefox, and type about:config
in the url bar. Firefox will show the preferences screen. Please take care not to make changes at random.
2. Right click in the preferences area, and choose New > Integer from the popup menu.
3. In the dialog box that now appears, enter dom.successive_dialog_time_limit
, followed by the value 0
(zero).
4. Press OK.
- Drawing Redlines. When using the tools to add redlines to published drawings (adding arrows, lines, rectangles, etc), if you do an extra left-click of the mouse the application draws a long line toward the right, bottom corner of the drawing. To remove these lines, use the "Undo Last Redline" button to remove the unwanted line after it appears. (3037124)
- Dashboards. Long first-load time. On some application servers, such as Web Logic 8 and 10, we have observed that some large dashboards (e.g. the Move Scenario dashboard) take a long time to load (6 seconds). ARCHIBUS compiles view files to .jsp on first use so that the second load and all subsequent loads of the view are very fast. However, for some long dashboards on some application servers, the .jsp compilation takes multiple tries and produces several error in the archibus.log file. However, the process completes reliably and there is no error or service interruption to the user. The one observable effect of this issue is that large dashboards can take longer to load. (3032821)
- Tree Drill-Downs. FireFox. Collapsing and expanding a tree control panel causes the tree control to be rebuilt, which undoes the user's selection of tree nodes. (3036779)
- Chrome. Resetting your user profile. If Chrome crashes or exhibits odd behavior, your Chrome user profile may be corrupted. See these instructions on how to reset your Chrome user profile: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/142059
- Grid. API.Grid panels can display custom values calculated in Java Script code. An example can be seen in this view:
Path: Technologies / User Interface Add-Ins / Assemblies with Multiple Panels / Find-Manage with Categories
File: ab-products\solutions\assemblies\work-wizard\ab-ex-work-wizard.js
Function: updateLocations()
This example displays the custom Location field that is composed from Building, Floor, Room, and Location database fields.
The example also includes a menu that allows the user to produce reports with the grid data. Due to Web Central technical implementation limitation, custom values formatted in Java Script code cannot be displayed in these reports.(3041685)
- Grid. API. The Clear Filter icon is not visible if the last grid column is hidden. To avoid the issue, add an empty last column. The condition does not affect any of the ARCHIBUS applications. (3040363)
- Security. LDAP. The result of using a distinguished name with a comma results in this error in archibus.log: "LDAP: error code 49 - Invalid Credentials". The solution is to change the bind user's "CN=" value to a name that does not contain a comma. (3037258)
- Schema Change Wizard. The archibus.log fails to show correctly field and table name in the global dataset. This is only a logging issue. There is no functional error. (3033565)
- Data Transfer to Excel. When exporting decimal data to Excel, when Web Central user is in one locale and Excel is set to a different locale (i.e. when the decimal separator in one is a comma and in the other is a decimal point), review the rounding of the decimal data in the Excel file to verify that it is appropriate for your use. (3035375)
- Drawing and chart controls. Internet Explorer 9. If you are using Internet Explorer 9 and the content of your drawing and chart controls appear in the upper-left corner of the screen, download an update for Adobe Flash Player 10 (version 10.3.181.16 or later). This version of Flash resolves an issue with Flash and systems with an Intel HD adapter.
- Adobe Flash Player. Some versions of the Flash player (e.g. 10.0.32.18) will give an error: FABridge.abDrawing is null or not an object. Upgrading to a later point release or version of the Flash Player resolves the issue. (3034761)
- Localization Kit. Large strings. Running the Technologies / Localization / Localization / Export or Import Glossary Files task - "Read Strings in to Glossary" action results in a message stating that: "The index entry of length 1079 bytes for the index lang_glossary_PK exceeds the maximum length of 900 bytes." This only happens in SQL Server environments. If you encounter this error when localizing strings over 900 bytes, consider using Oracle or Sybase for localization. (3037628)
Smart Client known limitations
- Using V.21.1 Smart Client with V.21.2 or V.21.3. If you have V.21.1 Smart Client, you cannot use it with the Sybase 12 Web Edition, support for which was only added in V.21.2. If you leave the Web Edition configuration in place, V.21.1 Smart Client users will get the "User ID and/or password" error. To remove the Web Edition configuration, edit WebCentral\WEB-INF\config\context\compatibility\afm-config.xml and remove the entire
<engine type="Sybase-WebEdition"></engine >
element. Then edit WebCentral\WEB-INF\config\afm-projects.xml and remove any project definition that uses databaseEngineType="Sybase-WebEdition"
. Then V.21.1 Smart Client will sign into other databases per usual. (3045680)
- Editing Standards tables. If you edit Furniture or Equipment Standards with the default database, the titles for the Length and Width fields will show incorrectly as "ft" or "M". If you log in with a different locale (e.g. view an Imperial project as a Metric user) the program will convert the values. The condition also occurs in Furniture or Equipment Standards views loaded in Web Central. To avoid this condition in both environments, load the ARCHIBUS Fields table (afm_flds), find the Length and Width fields, and change their Numeric Format from "Length" to "Default". (3037311)
- Drawing List. Document Management for Drawings. The Drawing List is sluggish for large (thousands) of record drawing lists. Most large teams prefer to use virtual-private ARCHIBUS to divide the drawing list by area of responsibility.
- Data Transfer. Linux. Java 1.6. If you encounter errors using Data Transfer when running Linux with Java 1.6, upgrade to Java 1.7. (3045880)
Smart Client Extension for AutoCAD known limitations
- Large floor plans. When dealing with very large floor plans (3,500 rooms on a single floor), commands like Catalog Layer and Highlight by Department do not give progress feedback, but function correctly.
- Reset to Automatic. This asset text command does not work on asset text produced by the Windows Client/Server Overlay command. If it gives an error, use the Catalog command on the asset in the Smart Client Extension for AutoCAD, then use the Reset to Automatic per normal.
- New Drawing command. You cannot attach drawings that contain an apostrophe (') in their name. (3032133)
- Edit Data. Suite areas. If you use Edit Data on suite areas, and if you use Select Values to select an existing suite, the area in the form shows temporarily as 0. If you press OK, the correct area is recorded and appears correctly on subsequent invocations of the command. (3035340, 3034959)
- Drawing Publishing. The Color Mapping field has been added to the ARCHIBUS Drawing Publishing Rules table. Use this field to enter a RGB hexadecimal value or a named color value that the application uses for publishing entities for all enterprise graphics. The Color Mapping field can be used for SWF and EMF output. Currently, it is not supported for SVG files.(3035810 )
- Publish Enterprise Graphics. Does not publish AutoCAD Architecture objects to enterprise graphics. Use the "AECTOACAD" command on these drawings. (3029616)
- Highlighting commands. If some areas don't highlight with solid highlights, they might be open not closed polylines. If so, close them. The AutoCAD solids don't fill unclosed-closed polylines. AutoCAD hatch patterns do, however. Notice that if you have multiple areas of one type (e.g. Office standard), having one unclosed polyline may cause others to also not have a solid fill (since ARCHIBUS hatches many of them in one go for efficiency's sake). (3030818)
Smart Client DWG Editor known limitations
- Enterprise Graphics Publishing. The batch publishing and GIS publishing commands are (afm_batchpublish, afm_pubGeoInfo, afm_pubToArcgis) are supported only in the Extension for AutoCAD and not in the DWG Editor. (3045625)
- Startup. After installation, you must start the DWG Editor from the Windows Start button the first time for the ARCHIBUS Extensions to enable. After that, you can launch the DWG Editor from the Smart Client Drawing List if you set your CAD Preference to be the DWG Editor. (3031423)
- AutoCAD Architecture drawings. The DWG Editor does not open drawings that need extensions to render their proxy objects, as these extensions are not present in the AutoCAD OEM version on which the DWG Editor is based. Use the "AECTOACAD" command on these drawings to use them in the DWG Editor. (3032171)
Smart Client Extension for Revit known limitations
- Deleting rooms. Revit does not notify ARCHIBUS when Revit deletes rooms. Currently, ARCHIBUS cannot uncatalog rooms on that event. Use the Synchronization / Uncatalog Records without Assets command to clear the Drawing Name and Id fields on these rooms in one step.
- Web Query command. Is intended to work on rooms, furniture, and equipment; but does not provide additional information for other asset types, such as gross, group or suite areas. For these elements, use the Edit Data dialog to display all relevant properties. Also, if the last primary key value for an asset is a single digit (e.g. if you query for room "1"), then the pop up dialog results are not restricted to that one record. This doesn't occur for two- and three-digit IDs (e.g. room "10" or "100"). (3035367, 3035366, 3034950, 3034414)
- Publish Enterprise Graphics. While the Extension does filter for visibility, in some cases, invisible lines -- such as walls that are visible but hidden by a floor element -- show in any case. The very first entity in a Revit model or AutoCAD drawing is not published to the SWF file. This condition is typically only noticeable in very small test drawings. (3035308, 3034839)
- Edit Data and long parameter values. If you have a parameter value (e.g. Name) mapped to an ARCHIBUS field (e.g. Option 1), and that parameter has an existing value longer than the field width in ARCHIBUS, then you will not be able to create a record using Edit Data. You can shorten the parameter value using the Revit Parameters dialog. Alternately, if you use the ARCHIBUS Catalog command, the command will find all of these conditions and allow you to rectify them individually or in groups. (3034793)
- Edit Data and Group Areas. For new groups, the Group Code will show as "1" until the record is actually saved. Thereafter, the proper autonumbered ID will show. (3034828)
- Edit Data and Suite Areas. If you use Edit Data on suite areas, and if you use Select Values to select an existing suite, the area in the form shows temporarily as 0. If you press OK, the correct area is recorded and appears correctly on subsequent invocations of the command. (3035340, 3034959)
- Map Database Fields. This form is empty if there are no assets in the model of the specified asset type. (3034357)
- Copy / Paste. If you copy and paste furniture and equipment, you also copy and paste their Revit properties. Use the ARCHIBUS synchronization commands to find and resolve any duplicates. (3030989)
Reservations Plugin for Microsoft Outlook known limitations
- Out-of-sync message occurs when there is a trailing white space in the Subject line for the reservation. When creating a reservation using the Outlook Plug-In, if the Subject entered for the reservation has a trailing space, you get an out-of-sync warning when you open the reservation. You are told that the reservation is out-of-sync and asked if you want to modify the reservation. If you click yes, the subject with trailing space is sent to Web Central again and stored in the database. If you click no, the meeting subject is not updated. Only the meeting times are set to match the reservation again. This message will keep occurring until you manually remove the trailing white space. (3046862)
- Changing a room or resource reservation on the day of. It’s not possible to change a room or resource reservation on the day the reservation is occurring. Even when the current time is not yet past the announcement time of the room arrangement or resource, users who are not part of the Reservation Manager or Reservation Service Desk security group are not able to make changes to a reservation or resource on the day the reservation is occurring. (3046864, 3046874)
- Exchange Listener Scheduled workflow rule runs twice. The current schedule properties for the Exchange Listener’s Scheduled workflow rule causes it to run twice. By default, the second instance is started one hour after Web Central starts. No further instances are started after the second instance. Although this causes the updates received from Exchange to be processed twice, it doesn’t cause any functional issues. However, the second attempt at processing an update could cause an error to be printed in archibus.log. This occurs because the item is no longer found in Exchange after the first instance of the Exchange Listener removed it, or because two threads (each in a separate database transaction) attempted to modify the same reservation record at the same time. You can update the workflow rule definition by using Data Transfer to import\WebCentral\projects\users\public\dt\AbWorkplaceReservations-afm_wf_rules-exchangeListener.csv (3046132)
- Editing recurring reservations. When editing a recurring series for a conference call reservation from the Plug-In, the changes are applied correctly to the primary location (the first location selected when creating the reservation), but all other rooms and their associated resources are canceled. If you are editing a recurring reservation that is not a conference call (that is, the reservation has only a single location), the Plug-In cancels and then re-creates all dates for the meeting, but any previously reserved resources are not created again. (3045763)
- Outlook 2007. Start time. From the Outlook Plug-In, if you are in the Week or Day view of the Outlook Calendar, and change the start or end time by dragging the top or bottom edge of the meeting, the change is not immediately propagated to the reservation. Furthermore, the Outlook Plug-In sometimes reverts your change. A workaround is to open the Appointment window and modify the meeting from there. On Outlook 2010, this issue does not occur, so you can use any method to modify the meeting. “ (3044483)
- Time zones. EST. In the Cities table, the time zone field must be set to America/<region> instead of EST in order for the Plugin to calculate the Day Light Saving time. Also, If the time zone is set to EST, the Exchange listener will decline recurring reservations with an occurrence during daylight saving time, if the reservation is created via the Outlook Plugin. (3036587, 3042134
- Recurring reservations. Time zones. When you select a room for a recurring all-day event, the meeting times are changed to match the available time period of the room for the first date. A specific limitation applies if the following three conditions are met. (1) If the time zone of the building is different from the time zone of the meeting in Outlook, and (2) both time zones apply different DST rules, and (3) the offset between the two time zones for some of the later occurrences differs from the offset between the two time zones for the first occurrence. When these conditions occur, the room will not be considered available for the occurrences where the time zone offset is different from the offset for the first occurrences. Those occurrences are then counted as conflicts.Whether the room is displayed depends on the total number of occurrences versus the number of conflicts. To work around this issue, change the meeting time zone to match the time zone of the building where you want to book a room. (3045923)
- Example 1: Consider a building in Eastern Standard Time (UTC-05:00) and a meeting in Central European Time (UTC+01:00). Suppose the meeting occurs every day from October 24, 2014 until October 30, 2014. This schedule makes seven occurrences; the offset for the first two occurrences is six hours, and the offset for the other five occurrences is five hours. In this case, the room will be considered available only for the first two occurrences and will be considered to have five conflicts. As a result, the room is not displayed.
- Example 2: Consider a building in Eastern Standard Time (UTC-05:00) and a meeting in Central European Time (UTC+01:00). Suppose the meeting occurs every Friday from October 24, 2014 until November 7, 2014. This schedule makes three occurrences; the offset for the first and last occurrences is six hours and the offset for the second occurrence is five hours. In this case, the room will be considered available for the first and last occurrence, but will be considered to have a conflict for the second occurrence. As a result, the room is displayed with 1 conflict.
- Calendar changes and cancellations of occurrences without attendees. If you create a recurring reservation from the Outlook Plug-In and save it without adding attendees, modify an occurrence of the reservation, and then open the modified occurrence, you get a message saying that the room reservation linked to this appointment is out-of-syn. The message asks if you want to modify the reservation linked to this appointment. If you select No, the appointment is modified so that the reservation and appointment are out-of-sync. For example, if you have changed the date of an occurrence from the Outlook Plug-In, if you select No to this message, the date of the reservation is changed back to the original date, so the reservation is not updated to match the date change you applied in the Outlook Plug-In. Similarly, the Outlook Plug-In doesn't always cancel the corresponding reservation if you cancel one of the occurrences of a recurring appointment without attendees via Outlook's calendar view. Only the first change to the recurring appointment series in the current Outlook session is detected; later changes/cancellations are ignored. As a workaround, you can open the occurrence (choose "open this occurrence" in the pop-up window), and modify / cancel it from the Appointment Window. Note this does not occur when using the Exchange listener, as the listener adds an attendee (the resource account) to each appointment with a reservation. (3046206)
- Confusing confirmation dialog for a recurring reservation with only one occurrence. If you create a recurring reservation with only one occurrence, the confirmation dialog says that rooms for later occurrences can be booked separately. The dialog message is not correct and can be ignored as the reservation is valid. (3046205)
- Recurrence pattern for every x years and incorrect end dates. When you change the interval for a yearly recurring appointment in Outlook, Outlook doesn't always update the end date correctly. When this occurs and you then try to book a room, the Outlook Plug-In shows an error message which doesn't indicate the actual problem. The error message says that saving the reservation failed. You get this error message because Outlook miscalculated the end date for the recurrence series. As a workaround, after specifying the recurrence pattern and closing the Recurrence dialog, open the Recurrence dialog again and click OK without changing anything. Outlook will then recalculate the end date correctly. (3046203)
- 'Continue without reservation?' dialog appears three times if the room is no longer available. If the room you selected in the Outlook Plug-In is no longer available when you try to create a reservation (that is, it was booked after you selected the room, but before you tried to save), the Outlook Plug-In displays a message asking if you want to 'Continue without reservation?' If you click Cancel, the dialog disappears and the list of rooms is refreshed so that you can select an available room. However, if the error is not about the room’s availability, (for example, you could get this error if Web Central has gone off line), you might want to save/send the meeting in Outlook without a location, and add a room reservation at a later time. In this case, you would click OK. If you are creating a meeting with attendees (and sending invitations), the error dialog appears a total of three times before the meeting is actually saved and invitations are sent. As a workaround, you can click the OK button to 'Continue without reservation' in each of these three dialogs to send the invitations without a location. This issue occurs only when trying to send invitations (both new invitations and updates). (3046195)
- Linked resource reservations change to match the full room reservation time. The Outlook Plug-In and Exchange listener were designed to maintain the times of resource allocations relative to the room reservation times when a reservation is modified. Specifically, the start and end time of the resource allocations should only be modified if they are outside the new room reservation time. However, currently if you change a reservation time, the resource allocation times are always modified to match the new full room reservation time frame. As a workaround, after changing the room reservation via the Outlook Plug-In, you should edit room reservations that have resources that were originally reserved for a shorter time than the entire reservation time in Web Central, or change the resource reservation times via Web Central. (3046218)
GIS known limitations
- Enhanced Map Views. Scrolling Legend. In Internet Explorer 11, if you click on the scroll bar for a long legend, the legend become "stuck" on the mouse until you reload the view. This issue does not affect Chrome, Firefox or Safari. (3045894)
- Map Mouse Click Event disabled. (Firefox only). In map views with multiple tabs, if a user switches from the map tab to a different tab, then back to the map tab, the map will redraw zoomed-in. )(3035951)
- Map. Unable to show details for buildings at the same location. If you have buildings with the same location (down to even street address, on the same site), the system has trouble distinguishing them. For example, multiple markers that are near one another become graphically indistinguishable, their labels overlap, they cannot all be clicked for information, and the tool tip indicates only one building. For situations with multiple buildings with same address, you can manually provide latitude and longitude values for each of the different buildings or digitize their locations on a map using the Technologies / User Interface Add-Ins / Geographic Information System (GIS) Views / Map with Asset Locator task (http://localhost:8080/archibus/ab-arcgis-locate-asset.axvw). This allows for very precise placement and may help to resolve this issue. ARCHIBUS, Inc. is working on a solution to this issue.(3035154)
Connectors known limitations
- When scheduling connectors. setting Run On Startup to true may prevent the app server from restarting. (3045752)
- When scheduling connectors, you cannot set the schedule twice; you need to clear it first. (3045751)
- FTP connectors will use the local file delimiter between the remote folder and the file (it should be remote delimiter). (3045633)
- When importing delimited text, if a text qualifier is used, the escaped text qualifier will be removed from the field value. (3045591)
- Text connectors will treat the space after a trailing newline as an empty record. Use SKIP IF NULL OR EQUALS rule. (3045076)
- Exception messages in the connector log are not always meaningful to users. (3045158, 3045326, 3045333, 3045335)
- Connector examples need to be updated. (3045396)
- Saving a connector won’t display the standard “Record Successfully Saved” banner. (3045250)
- Once a password is set, it can be changed, but it cannot be unset. (3045415, 3045389)
System Administration known limitations
- Schema database. System Admin can be performed from any user that has one of the following roles assigned:
4 - PROCESS OWNER (ACP)
4 - PROCESS OWNER
ACTIVITY LICENSEE
The Schema database has users such as AFM and AI that have these roles. System Admins may also wish to set up a System Admin role that only has System Admin processes unlike the longer list of processes that the roles above have assigned. In a future release the Schema.db will include System Admin-specific roles.(3042664)
Project Management known limitations
- Project Quality Control Dashboard. Edit Status control button. Upon update of project status to an unassigned grouping, it looks like the project disappears from the projects grid. Re-open the view to see the project listed under the new project status grouping. (3045850)
Cost Administration known limitations
-
Cost Administrator. Straight-line rent. If a lease recurring base rent has a monthly payment date in the middle of the month, and if the same lease has a one-time scheduled base rent cost entered for the last half of the final month of the recurring cost, the Straight-Line Rent report’s BASE RENT total incorrectly shows as 0 for the final month. All other values in the Straight-Line Rent report will calculate properly. This occurs because the Straight-Line Rent report displays only 12 months, and, in this case, the additional one-time lease base rent cost occurs after the final payment date for the recurring cost record; the lease costs span into 13 months. (3039764)
-
Cost Wizard. Typically, a single lease will have all its costs in one currency. However, it is possible, as demonstrated by the costs for the lease L-MADROFF-05 in the HQ sample data, to have costs in different currencies for the same lease, building, or property. When viewing these costs from the Cost Wizard, you will see that the Currency (Payment) field shows that the costs are using different currencies. The Totals at the bottom of the screen do not have a currency symbol, indicating that there has been no conversion of these costs to a uniform currency and thus the totals do not represent a usable value if the line items have different currencies. (3039220)
- VAT tax override. In V.20.2, since the default value for VAT Override was 0, when you wanted to set the VAT override to 0, the application had no way to distinguish between the default value and an actual VAT override to zero. This resulted in the program charging back the full VAT Tax when there was an intentional entry of 0 for the VAT Tax override amount. In V.21.1, the default value for VAT Amount Override is changed to -1.0, and settings other than this value will override the VAT. Sites that wish to control on a per-record basis whether the chargeback occurs, and that are upgrading to v21.1 or later should: (3039540)
1. Run the SQL statements in projects\users\public\dt\abcostadministration-cost_tran_recur-vat_amount_override-chargeback.sql. This will:
-- change the default VAT Amount Override to -1
-- change all VAT Amount Overrides of 0 to a new value of -1
-- not charge back VAT Amount Overrides that have a value of -1
2. Review your Recurring Cost records. For any that you do wish to chargeback using no VAT amount, change the VAT Amount Override back to 0.
Real Estate Portfolio Management known limitations
- Portfolio Forecasting . Portfolio Forecasting Groups appear in the Space Inventory & Performance / Group Inventory views. The Portfolio Forecasting application creates group allocation records that are associated with a Portfolio Scenario ID and are stored in the Groups table. These groups are based on projections, and therefore are distinct from groups that reflect your current inventory. However, these forecasting groups appear in the Group Inventory views. (3045162)
Capital Budgeting known limitations
Commissioning known limitations
- Commission Equipment. The Documentation tab contains fields that cannot be opened with the SHOW DOCUMENTATION controls because their AFM Type=Graphics: These fields are: Spec. Sheet Graphic, Wiring Diagram Graphic, Equip. Assembly Graphic, Lubrication Points Graphic. Due to current field data dictionary definition, these fields will not allow SHOW DOCUMENT functionality in Web Central. (3037369)
Space Planning & Management known limitations
- Pending assignments and searching. The Smart Search console on the pending assignments panel causes an error when you click Enter in the fields, or click the X button to clear the console. This happens on the following views: Assign Room Attributes and Occupancy, Assign Categories and Types to Rooms, Assign Room Standards to Rooms(3045872)
- Space Requests and Move Management. If you change the From Location in a space request, use Move Management / Enterprise Move Management / Move Coordinator / Complete Group Moves to close the move, check the rmpct record, you will see that the value for primary_em is still 0. It should change to 1 since user has changed the From Location from satellite location to primary location. The conditions for this situation are: workspace transactions are enabled, the SLA for Group Move calls for the service provider as Move Management and no approvers, and the application parameters are:
InferRoomDepartments=0
and AssignUnallocatedSpace=ProrateFloor
. (3043629)
- Space Console. Moving employees.. When making employee assignments, if you move an employee to one room, and then decide to move the employee again to a different room, the first room will remain highlighted. The pending assignment is correct, but the room highlight for the first room will not re-set to indicate that no move is occurring in that room.(3041300)
- Space Console. VPA. If a user has VPA set for division/department, the user can still update an employee's location to be a room that does not belong to the division/department VPA. This can be done by:
1) Using the Space Console to drag and drop the employee to the new room.
2) Using Define Employee or Edit Employee to update the employee's building, floor, room (note that this can only be done by directly inputting the location, as the select-values list of rooms will obey VPA)
If the user does update the employee location to a new room that does not belong to the same division/department as is set by VPA, the location change will not create a workspace transaction, and therefore the employee's change will not be recorded in history.
- Space Console. PDF reports. From the Space Console, if you select "Employees" as the label when generating a PDF report, the label will not show those employees. To fix this, run the following SQL UPDATE statement: UPDATE em
SET dwgname = (SELECT dwgname FROM rm WHERE bl_id = em.bl_id AND fl_id = em.fl_id AND rm_id = em.rm_id)
Another limitation in the resulting PDF report is that room numbers will only show for rooms that contain employees. (3045679)
- Chargeback calculation. If workspace transaction records contain an end date before the start date, they will be incorrectly accounted for in the chargeback calculation. (3033209)
Move Management known limitations
- Plan move scenario on WebSphere. On the Process Navigator, choose Move Management / Enterprise Move Management / Move Scenario Planner / Develop Move Scenarios. Create a new scenario or choose a scenario to edit. When you move to the Plan Move Scenario tab, the program presents an error message. Subsequently, you can access this tab without a problem. (3027142)
- Action questionnaires. If you add new Action Types (using the Move Management / Enterprise Move Management / Business Process Owner / Define Action Types task), you then cannot add questionnaires to these action types (using the Move Management / Enterprise Move Management / Business Process Owner / Define Action Questionnaires task). (3028382)
- Create Move Scenario tab on Internet Explorer. When switching between move scenarios and using Internet Explorer, you may encounter an error when selecting a second scenario in the Create Move Scenarios tab, after using the Plan Move Scenario tab to make re-assignments in the first scenario. To view the second scenario, re-load the move project from the Process Navigator. After re-loading the view, you can switch between move scenarios without error. If you make additional changes to a move scenario and you want to compare scenarios again, re-load the view again. Move scenario planning is available from the "Request a Group Move" and "Edit my Group Moves" tasks under Move Requestor, and from the "Review and Estimate Group Moves" and "Issue Group Moves" tasks under Move Coordinator. (3036426)
Asset Management known limitations
Building Operations known limitations
- SLAs with EMERGENCY problem type. In the V.21.3 HQ canonic database, the SLA for problem type EMERGENCY in building BOSMED has an incorrect service window that will cause the system not to be able to submit work requests reported against this SLA. The inability to submit these work requests occurs on mobile (Workplace Services Portal, for Maintenance Requests) and on the Report Problem view in Web Central. To resolve this issue, go to Building Operations / On Demand Work / Service Desk Manager / Manage Service Level Agreements, edit this SLA, and modify the Service Window End time to be after the Service Window Start time. (3045963)
- Closing and archiving work requests. The canonic HQ and Schema databases are missing the field questionnaire_id in the table hactivity_log. Not having this field will result in the inability to preserve any questionnaire information associated with Condition Assessment items once they are archived. To fix this issue, perform the following steps:
1. Start the Smart Client, load any grid view.
2. Invoke Data Transfer, from the View group of the ribbon menu.
3. Select Transfer In and the Local File option.
4. Browse to the file <workgrpsvr>\projects\users\public\dt\abcapitalplanningca-afm_flds-hactivity_log.questionnaire_id.csv, where <workgrpsvr> is your Web Central server name. Select "Start Transfer."
5. After the file transfer, you must run the Schema Change Wizard and restart your application server. (3045712)
- Upgrading to 21.2 features and dispatching. If you upgrade to 21.2 features when there are existing service requests that have been dispatched but have not yet been created as work requests, then the dispatcher may have to dispatch these requests again after executing the Opt In process. This is because the Dispatch step now occurs on the "Work Request – Approved" status instead of the "Service Request – Approved" status. Therefore, the system now considers this Dispatch step to be pending and not complete. (3044209)
- Search & Manage. When users decide to opt in to the new Building Operations Console, they will also get a new view for Search & Manage that focuses on the Work Request. This new Search & Manage, however, does not display open steps and does not have a Forward button like its predecessor. Forwarding Work Requests to other Supervisors, however, is available on the Building Operations Console itself. (3042398) (3042557)
- SLA Filter's Dispatch field. The SLA console filter has a Dispatch field, but this filter field is not working. Populating a name in the field will always result in zero results returned. (3045441)
- Extra problem types in Report Problem form. Some extra problem types used by the Workplace Service Portal mobile app (SERVICES, SERVICES|COPY, SERVICES|FURNITURE, SERVICES|MOVE, SERVICES|SPACE) can appear in the Report Problem form. This occurs when new deployments run the opt-in process for the Building Operations Console or deployments that upgrade to 21.3 and then run the opt-in process. ( If you had already run the opt-in process in 21.2, this will not occur.) These extra problem types are not related to the similarly-named Request Types (SERVICE DESK - COPY SERVICE, SERVICE DESK - DEPARTMENT SPACE, SERVICE DESK - FURNITURE, SERVICE DESK - GROUP MOVE, SERVICE DESK – HOTELING). The Workplace Service Portal SERVICES problem types may cause confusion, but they will not cause any errors in workflow. You can prevent them from appearing in the Report Problem form by changing the Problem Class of these problem types from “On Demand Work” to “N/A”. (3042607)
Clean Building known limitations
- Project Type Code. The application employs a hard-coded string prefix or suffix for activity type (“HAZMAT –”) that is visible to users. This is not meant to be a translatable string, but a code such as appears in other places (e.g., “CB –”). This issue has no functional impact, but may raise questions or concerns for non-English users. (3034385)
Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) known limitations
- MSDS Locations List / MSDS Geographic Drill-Down. The tab titles in deeply-nested tabs do not appear localized/translated.(3034845, 3034464)
-
Print MSDSs: Paginated report job dialogue window concludes with "Partial Results" message, even though the job has successfully completed. Once the job completes according to the progress bar indicator and the pdf file link in the dialogue becomes active, the job and document should be complete, despite the message. If so, disregard the message as a ‘false positive.’ (3039815)
Waste Management known limitations
- Hazardous Waste Accumulation report. The application stores and displays the hazardous waste accumulation volume limit application parameter value in units of US Gallons. Users must take care to convert any other volume limit parameter into gallons if they adjust the application parameter controlling this. In any case, the application does automatically and correctly convert the accumulated waste quantity to compare against this standard, no matter what units the waste had been recorded in.
- Waste Management Map. Oracle. If you have sites with buildings that do not have longitude and latitude values, the site will not appear on the Waste Management Map. To facilitate coordinate entry, use Web Central's "Asset Locator" technology view to click a location on a map and assign that location's coordinates to the building. (3045719)
- Waste Management Map. Switching tabs. The Waste Management map does not display properly after switching tabs. If a user switches from the map tap to the details tab, then back to the map tab, the map may only partly redraw. Work around: after switching back to the map tab, click the “Show” or “Show Selected” action button to trigger a map refresh. (3035951)
Energy known limitations
- Process BAS Data view. You cannot create indexes on dates fields or on calculated fields. For example, if you create an index on a date field having the value 2014-01-01, the value first shows as ‘2 – All.’ If you click the ‘2’ option, the value changes to ‘20’; click the ‘20’ and it's transformed to ‘201’; click the ‘201’ and it’s transformed to ‘2014’; click again, and it’s transformed to ‘2014….’ This issue occurs in the right “Clean num” panel in the Process BAS Data view. (3045414)
- Cash Flow report Does not display costs in user currency. (3037450)
- Energy Consumption Over Time report Weekly totals are split into partial weeks at the beginning/end of each year. (3045688)
- Load Bills. When users initiate a bill load, the application does not provide visible feedback on progress until the import completes. With large imports, users may experience a noticeable delay between their click of the action button and process completion; they should be assured that the job is progressing as intended despite the missing job progress indicator. (3045691)
- Indexes. Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server. The Energy Management indexes, designed to improve performance of the metering analytics data processing and reports, are missing from the SQL Server and Oracle databases. To create those indexes, run the SQL file on your database server. Note that the file name indicates the DB sever type.

Reservations known limitations
- Work orders not canceled when reservations canceled. When you cancel a reservation, associated work orders are not also canceled. When you cancel a reservation, associated work requests are also canceled (archived.). However, if there is also an associated work order, it is not canceled, even if there are no other open work requests associated with it. (3046866)
- Description incorrectly set. The application incorrectly gives work requests for reservation setup tasks a Description of Cleanup. If the room arrangement or resource has been set up to generate a work request for setup and cleanup tasks, the application incorrectly gives the setup tasks a Description of Cleanup. Note, however, when you edit a reservation the work request Description is changed, and then the description of the work request for setup correctly starts with 'Setup' again. (3046868)
- Work order status incorrectly changed from AA to A after editing. When editing a work request for a reservation setup or cleanup task, if the work request is associated with a work order, the work order status is incorrectly changed from Assigned to Work Order (AA) to Approved (A.) This affects primarily deployments where the WorkRequestOnly activity parameter is set to 1. (3046883)
- Permission error. When trying to create a reservation when WorkRequestsOnly application parameter is set to 1, you might encounter a permission error: if you don’t’ have permission to set a CALCULATED field (in this case, wr.wo_id), the reservation generation fails. You do not get this error if you are a member of the CALCULATED security group, or are assigned to all security groups (such as users AFM and AI.) (3046869)
- Exchange. Listener Scheduled workflow rule runs twice. (3046132)
- Exchange. Recurring reservations. When the application is configured for Exchange integration but the listener is not enabled, the following can occur: If a recurring reservation is removed from Exchange, but not from Web Central, when editing one or all occurrences of this recurring reservation in Web Central, the corresponding meetings are not generated or updated in Exchange. (3040346)
- Exchange. Timezone changes. Although you can specify a custom time zone in the console when editing a recurring conference call in Web Central, this time zone is not copied to the Exchange meeting when saving the changes on Exchange 2010 or later. The times are set correctly. The time zone setting of the recurring meeting is not changed after the meeting is initially created, to avoid the issue described in KB 3045101. (3045785)
- Outlook Web Access. Time Zones A meeting occurrence is removed when updating the Daily pattern from Outlook Web Access (OWA) if time zones are different. When you update the times of a daily recurring meeting series via OWA, OWA changes the time zone of this meeting series to the default time zone configured in OWA. If this time zone differs from the original meeting time zone, OWA sometimes removes an occurrence from the series. This is considered a change in the recurrence pattern, which is not supported by the Exchange listener. Hence, when this occurs, the Exchange listener will not update the corresponding reservations. To avoid having an occurrence deleted, use Outlook or Web Central to change the reservations, or change the default time zone in OWA to match the original time zone of the meeting series. If this issue has already occurred, edit the recurring meeting series in OWA and add the removed occurrence again. The Exchange listener will then accept the recurring meeting request. (3045704)
- Google Calendar Integration. When you have configured the application for ‘no integration’ with Exchange, the .ics files that are generated to be imported into Outlook, Google Calendar, or any other calendar app sometimes do not correctly update the Google Calendar application. Specifically, there can be a problem with the file content related to the meeting identifiers created by the application. These meeting identifiers are not always unique. If you create a new calendar, instead of importing an existing one, the creation of meetings seems to work correctly for single and recurring reservations, but updates and cancellations don’t always work as expected. (3042383)
-
Room timeline for conference calls displays incorrectly when room availability is outside the timeline limits. When creating a conference call reservation, you will find that the room’s timeline can display room availability in any time zone you specify. This works correctly, except when a room's availability falls completely outside the visible time frame of the timeline. In this case, the room’s pre-block (setup time) on the timeline overlaps with the checkboxes for the rooms. (3046512)
- Floor and Room selection lists shown in pop-up windows are not filtered by a custom VPA . In v.21.3 there is a new application parameter that you can use to control whether or not the user’s VPA restriction is relaxed or applied when working in the Reservations application. This works in all places for Bl VPA, Site VPA and custom VPA except in the selection lists shown in pop-up windows used to select floor or room values. For most of the views in the application (Create Room Reservation, Create Resource Reservation, Create Conference Call Reservation, View Room Reservations & View Resource Reservations), these selection lists are not correctly filtered when the connected user has been assigned a Custom VPA. This issue only occurs when using selection lists from pop-up windows; other actions, such as creating a new reservation, or even listing the reservation in the View and/or Edit My Reservations will be correctly restricted by the user VPA. (3045695)
- Conflicts and .ics files. When using the Reservations application without exchange integration, if you are using email notifications, users receive .ics files to add or remove meetings from their calendars. When creating recurring reservations with conflicts, the body of the email will show only the reserved dates (and not the conflicts). However, the application still generates the appointment in the user's calendar for the conflicted dates. This could make it seem that the room is also reserved for the conflicted dates. Note that all later cancellations to either the conflicted or the reserved dates work correctly. Also, when using Exchange integration, this problem does not occur. (3044141)
- Room Capacity Utilization per Month. SQL Server and Oracle. Due to an error when publishing the Oracle and SQL Server databases, the database view rrmonrmcap was not correctly updated for SQL Server and Oracle. This causes the Room Capacity Utilization per Month report to show external + internal guest value instead of the real attendees in room value that has been added in v.21.3. To solve this issue, the database view needs to be recreated in SQL Server or Oracle databases. You can use the files l
schemawiz-update-reservation-sql-views-mssql.sql
or schemawiz-update-reservation-sql-views-oracle.sql
provided with Web Central to update this view. (3045749)
- Editing multiple reservations in a series. When you edit recurring reservations in Web Central, each occurrence is updated on the Exchange server, but when you open the series in Outlook, you will see that it shows the old information. Basically, only individual occurrences are updated and the series is left unchanged. For example, in Web Central you could change the reservation time from 10am-12pm to 9am-11am for all occurrences and add an attendee. If you open one of the changed occurrences in Outlook, you’ll see the 9am-11am time and the added attendee, but if you open the entire series you’ll still see 10am-12pm, and not see the added attendee. (3042105)
- Creating new reservations. When creating a reservation in the Create New Room Reservation task, if you add attendees who are busy during the selected time, they are shown on the timeline with a blue bar. Since these attendees are added to the meeting despite their busy status, the bar should be shown in green to indicate that they are part of the reservation being created. (3040720)
- Confirm. In the Confirm Reservation screen, the Requestor’s Email (reserve.email field) is used by the Outlook Plugin and for Exchange integration. The non-integration sending of emails retrieves the email address from the Employees table. For this reason, reserve.email should be equal to the requested_by employee email. If you change the default email presented in the form, by entering a different email than the employee’s email, the Plugin and Exchange use the new value, but the .ics invitations continue to use the em.email value. For reservations created via the Plugin, the Plugin fills in the user_requested_by, user_created_by, and user_requested_for based on the reserve.email field.(3015233)
-
Linked resource reservations change to match the full room reservation time. When working from Web Central, if you edit the time for a conference call reservation that includes resource bookings for some of the locations, the time for any resources added for a single location are changed to match the new time for the conference call (even when the resource time is still within the new time frame for the conference call). As a workaround, after changing the conference call’s time, you can edit the locations with linked resources that were originally reserved for a shorter time than the entire reservation time. (3046218)
- View My ReservationsThe Edit and Cancel buttons do not work correctly on 21.2 schema. Conference call reservations cannot exist on a 21.2 schema. However, when using a 21.2 schema, if you try to Edit or Cancel a reservation from View and/or Edit My Reservations, even though the res_conference field doesn't exist in the schema, the application interprets all reservations as part of a conference call. As a result, for each reservation you are prompted whether you want to edit / cancel the full conference call or the single location. This occurs for both regular and recurring reservation. If you choose the full conference call, the next step fails because the conferenceCallReservationService WFR is undefined. If you choose to edit the single location, the application loads the Edit Reservation view with the Building Code and time frame as read-only, and no attendees timeline. If you choose to cancel the single location, no further issues occur. To avoid these errors, It is recommended to upgrade to the v.21.3 schema, or to add the res_conference field to the v.21.2 schema database. (3045943)
