Entering a Formula for Facility Condition Index

The facility index--also known as the Facility Condition Index or FCI--is an index number that indicates the current condition or environmental sustainability of an asset measured to its "as new" condition. This is a key benchmark that organizations use to objectively assess the current condition and environmental sustainability of assets in their facilities.

The application ships with a default calculation for FCI, but because organizations can vary in the way they calculate this index, the application enables you to enter the calculation to be used instead of the default.

The default formula is:

(1000 * Estimated Costs (Total) / Replacement Cost)

Using the exact fields, this formula is:

(1000 * ( cost_estimated + cost_est_cap) / cost_to_replace) 

To change the default formula:

1. From the Process Navigator, select System Administration / ARCHIBUS Administrator - Application Configuration / Configure Application Parameters task.
2. From the Applications pane, select AbCapitalPlanningCA.
3. From the Application Parameters pane, select FacilityConditionIndex.
4. In the Edit Application Parameters pane, in the Parameter Value field, enter the formula for the facility condition index.
5. Optionally, you can enter a description of this formula in the Parameter Description field.
6. Click Save.
7. Click Reload All Parameters to have the saved parameter take effect.
