asset layer

A set of three layers in a drawing that work together to hold asset symbols and their asset text. An asset layer is composed of:

The asset text layer has the phrase "$TXT" as part of its name, and the asset symbol layer has the "$" character in its name.

For example, the equipment asset layer is composed of the EQ (prototype), EQ$TXT (asset text), and EQ$ (asset symbol) layers. Each asset layer has a default asset type. Selecting an asset layer sets the asset type for any items added to that layer.
