Certified Hazmat Inspector

Since there are many regulations and guidelines surrounding hazardous materials present in commercial and public buildings, a certified hazmat inspector is typically involved in multiple stages of a hazmat project. Having areas tested and reviewed by certified inspectors is required by many government regulations. During a hazmat process, a certified hazmat inspector might perform these tasks:

Inspectors typically receive the following from a hazmat manager:

Inspectors with Access to the ARCHIBUS System

Depending on operations at your site, inspectors may be granted access to the ARCHIBUS system so that they can directly enter the areas that they inspect, record areas from which they collect samples, and so forth.

In this case, the inspector is entered into ARCHIBUS as a field assessor and uses the Manage My Assessment Items task of the Field Assessor role to follow these procedures:

Inspectors without Access to the ARCHIBUS System

If an inspector is not granted access to the ARCHIBUS system, they typically record their data on paper or in their own system and provide this data to the hazmat manager who will then input it into ARCHIBUS. In this case, the inspector is associated with an assessment item through the Inspector / Assigned To field.
