building system

There are two types of Building Systems:

All building systems are typically designed, installed, managed, maintained and supported by their own team of domain experts. They are often evaluated and controlled both as an independent system and as a part of a larger system and the whole building.

With the Emergency Preparedness application, you can map dependencies between building systems, such as noting that the HVAC system is dependent on the electrical system. Thus, if the electrical system is unavailable during an emergency, the HVAC system will likewise be unavailable. From Emergency Preparedness, you can graphically document each building system's zones – that is, you can use a zone to specify a particular area on a given floor that is covered by the electrical system.

With the Asset Management domain, you can set up equipment system hierarchies to define dependencies, and can associate these equipment systems with a building system. Zones are not used by the Asset Management domain.
