A classification for service requests that controls how the system routes the service request. Request types can be defined for services such as copying, moves, office supplies, and maintenance.
The SERVICE DESK-MAINTENANCE request type covers preventive maintenance, on demand maintenance, and hazardous material management.
The request type automatically determines how some aspects of a service request of this type will be handled; for example, requests of the on demand maintenance request type are automatically routed to the maintenance department.
Other aspects of a request type are determined by the service desk manager.
