Comparing the ARCHIBUS Hoteling and Reservations Applications

Both the ARCHIBUS Hoteling and Reservations applications enable departments to occupy and use rooms on a temporary basis. However, they differ in important ways, as noted below:

	Hoteling	Reservations
Time Frame	Temporary assignment, down to the half-day of use.	Temporary assignment, down to the minute.
Type of Space	Available space tends to be inexpensive office space that is managed in a uniform way and does not require special set-up procedures or additional resources.	Available space tends to be more expensive, requires special set-up procedures, and can be managed with a variety of resources and work requests.
Chargeback	Costs of space are prorated and charged back to the department that booked the space using the same chargeback procedures as Space Chargeback.	Costs are charged to the selected department depending on a defined room rate. For details on the calculations, see Reservations Reports.
