Completing the Waste Generator for a Manifest and for Waste

In the US, EPA regulations require that hazardous waste manifests document the entity from which the waste originated and that all waste grouped on one manifest originate from the same generator. Accordingly, the Waste Management application uses some business logic to enforce that waste from only one generator appears on one manifest.

Specifically, the application behaves as follows to enforce that the waste from only one generator be grouped on a manifest.

If you have completed the Generator Code field of the waste manifest and are using the Define Manifest task to assign new and stored waste:

If you did not complete the Generator Code field of the waste manifest and you run the Define Manifest task:

Non-Hazardous Waste

If you are shipping non-hazardous waste, the EPA will not require you to list a generator on the manifest. If you know the generator of the non-hazardous waste and want to complete this information, the system will behave as described above. In the event that you do not want to complete generator information, or perhaps do not know the generator of the waste, you can do the following:
