Department Manager

The ultimate goal of the Space Chargeback application is to present a department with a financial statement of the cost of the space that they occupy and use. The department can then be internally billed for this space. The Space Chargeback/Department Manager process presents two reports of use to a department manager. The departments that the reports show are based on the department assignment of the user logged onto the system, as defined in the Employees table.

Department Financial Statement (Workspace Transaction-Enabled Method and Non-Transactional Shared Space Method)

If your site uses the shared workplace methodology and shares rooms (either by the amount of space or the amount of time), use this report to provide a breakdown of the space used by your department. For your department, the report lists the chargeable cost of space and the total amount of area for which the department is being charged.

For an accounting of the exact areas that contribute to their space bill, department managers can examine the individual rooms and workspace transactions assigned to their department. For each room and workspace transaction, they can move across the report to see the size of these areas and each area's corresponding share of common area and service area.

Department Financial Statement (Non-Transactional Standard Space Chargeback Method)

Use this report to provide a breakdown of the space used by your department. For your department, the report lists the chargeable cost of space and the total amount of area for which the department is being charged.

For an accounting of the exact areas that contribute to their space bill, department managers can examine the individual rooms and groups assigned to their department. For each room and group, they can move across the report to see the size of these areas and each area's corresponding share of common area and service area.
