Budget Exchange Rate

A static conversion rate between payment currencies and the Budget Currency. Organizations typically set one constant conversion rate for an entire budget period -- typically one quarter or one year. They do so to normalize out currency fluctuations, which are beyond the organization’s control, when examining performance against budgets and schedules, which are within the organization’s control. For this reason, the Budget Exchange Rate is updated infrequently at a predetermined interval, such as at the start of each fiscal year or quarterly. The budget exchange rate is used for future budgeting purposes.
