Cost type is a classification included in a cost category that identifies cost categories with specific types that can be used to generate reports. Cost types identify key components of your real property and lease costs so that they can be compared for different properties, buildings, and leases, and for different time frames. For example, the Lease Abstract, Rent Roll, and Lease Financial Summary reports document costs by cost types.
If you assign several related cost categories to the same cost type, you can examine these cost types together in the Cost Wizard.
