A group or room area assigned to a single department. Departmental assignments are made by completing the group or room record's Division Code and Department Code fields.
For example, a record in the Rooms table may have an area of 100 square feet, and a value of ACCT for its Department Code field. Therefore, the 100 square feet is added to the departmental area of the Accounting department. Such area is directly assigned to a department; it is not divided among multiple departments. Therefore, the Prorate field of areas assigned to departments should be set to NONE.
Departmental area is the opposite of common area.
