BUILDER™ SMS organizes its asset inventory information in a hierarchical data structure. The structure comprises seven levels, including an optional level for complexes:
Organization - A government agency, or collection of sites related to each other
Site - Collection of complexes or buildings
Complex - Collection of buildings (optional)
Building - Collection of building systems, components, or sections
System - Systems within a building, such as electrical, heating, or cooling
Component - Components assembled to construct the building
Section - Breakdown of components used for condition assessments or other management functions
UNIFORMAT II classifications specify definitions for these levels. The image below illustrates the inventory hierarchy, and includes examples for systems, components, and sections:
