tool type

A category you use to group together similar tools. Tool types are important for estimating the general tools required for a job and the cost of using these tools.

You do not add tool types as part of scheduling tools. Rather, tool types that have been used in the Preventive Maintenance application to define SLAs for preventive maintenance are shown with their associated costs in the Tool Types section of the Work Request form.

Examples of tool types are Circular Saw, Pipe Wrench, and 10 Foot Ladder. See also tool.
