telecom hierarchy level (Archibus Archibus and Asset Portal only)

A level assigned to a telecommunication device (or its standard) that shows the item’s position in the circuit.

You assign a telecom hierarchy level by completing the Hierarchy Level field of the inventory table, or the Std Hierarchy Level field of the standards table. When the program requires an item’s telecom level, it looks first at the inventory record and then at the standards record.

The Asset Portal application, which is the original asset application and was designed to provide a Web-based portal into asset data that you developed in Archibus Client/Server (discontinued with V.25.1). The Telecom Console -- used by the Assets, Enterprise Assets, and Telecom Assets applications -- does not use this field.
