What is ARCHIBUS Quick-Start?

ARCHIBUS Quick-Start guides you through getting up and running with two of the key components of the ARCHIBUS system: developing a space inventory and managing your maintenance work. While the ARCHIBUS Space Planning & Management and Building Operations Management domains provide many flexible working methods, ARCHIBUS Quick-Start prescribes one step-by-step method to build your space inventory and get started managing your maintenance issues.

ARCHIBUS Quick-Start is not a separately licensed product or separate installation. It is simply a set of views running on ARCHIBUS Web Central, a sample database, and a Quick-Start user definition that you use with the standard ARCHIBUS product.

The components of ARCHIBUS Quick-Start are outlined below.

The Quick-Start Prescriptive Method

ARCHIBUS Quick-Start offers a prescriptive method for using the Space Management & Planning (Space) and Building Operations (Operations) features. This prescriptive method enables you to quickly get a handle on your space and maintenance needs. Accordingly, the Quick-Start documentation and tasks focus on a simple, defined method to accomplish basic space and occupancy tasks.

Once you master the features defined by the Quick-Start methodology, you will be prepared to explore other ARCHIBUS features on your own.

The Quick-Start Sign-in

To access the Quick-Start features, you sign in to ARCHIBUS Web Central as a Quick-Start user.

The Quick-Start Database

When you sign in as a Quick-Start user, you access the Headquarters- Quick-Start database, which portrays the fictional Boston Medical building and reflects the organizations, rooms, floor plans, employees, and maintenance issues that such a building might have.

As you explore ARCHIBUS with the Quick-Start methodology, you can use this database to become familiar with the ARCHIBUS space and building operations features.

The Quick-Start Home Page

When you sign in as a Quick-Start user, ARCHIBUS immediately presents the Quick-Start Home page. In one spot, the Quick-Start Home page offers everything you need for getting started with ARCHIBUS Space and Building Operations:

links for accessing the Space Console and the Building Operations Console
links to key Building Operations and Space reports
performance metrics, alerts, and charts, and explanation of which can be seen in the Quick-Start Metrics (video 3:15).
