baseline inventory

Baseline inventory is the starting point for a space requirement or asset requirement. Typically, it consists of the current inventory, but it can also include any open positions or spaces currently required that you have already included in the inventory.

For a starting point of a space requirement, you can generate a baseline inventory based on room areas, count of room standards, or employee headcount. For assets, the baseline inventory is based on equipment standards or manual entries you make for the costs or area needed for the equipment.

The baseline is stored in the Period 0 Value of the Space Budget Items table (the sb_items.p0_value field.) with separate entries for space and assets. The way to distinguish between the two is that the space budget items for space requirements contain a value in the Room Standard (rm_std) field, and the asset requirements contain a value in the Equipment Standard (eq_std) field.

See space requirements, asset requirements.
