asset requirements

A description of the immediate equipment or furniture needs for a proposed project. Asset requirements are stored in the Space Budget Items table (for assets that have an equipment or furniture standard), or in the List of Required Assets table (for specialized, individual assets, or any equipment asset that does not have an associated standard). The space requirement item for an asset stores the Costs (Unit Cost - Asset and Unit Cost - Moving), and the area that the equipment or furniture requires (Unit Area). A workflow rule creates asset inventory records in the Space Budget Items table based on the count of Equipment or Furniture Standards from the Equipment or Furniture table of the selected buildings and floors, or from your manual entries.

Space requirements and asset requirement items share the same space requirement. The way to distinguish between a space requirement item and an asset requirement item is that the space requirement records contain a value in the Room Standard (rm_std) field, and the asset records contain a value in the Equipment Standard (eq_std) or Furniture Standard (fn_std) field.

If an asset does not have a standard when the workflow rule runs, it is considered an individual asset and is stored in the List of Required Assets table. The individual assets are considered required assets with a count of one. This table stores both equipment and furniture, and distinguishes them based on the Asset Type field.

You can develop an equipment or furniture asset inventory for your current inventory (the baseline or Period 0 Value) and for the requirements for your project (the Period 1 Value for a space budget item) using the Enterprise Asset Management's Project Proposal Console. You do not work with asset requirements from the Space Forecast & Planning Console.
