Add Instructions to a Questionnaire
You may want to add instructional text to each section, or the questionnaire as a whole. For example, instructions pertaining to the entire questionnaire can be placed at the top of the questionnaire.
Text that you provide as instructions is set off in a shaded blue box, as follows:
In the database, instruction text is stored in the Questions (question_ext) table, and the Question Type field is set to "Instructions."
Procedure
- At the top of the Define Questionnaire view, click the Add Instructions button.
- The Console displays a form for entering the instruction text.
- Enter your text in the Instructions Text box and save.
- Return to the questionnaire, and you will see that the instruction box has been added to the bottom of the questionnaire.
- Hover over the question box and Up Arrow and Down Arrow buttons appear. Use these buttons to move the instructions to the desired location.
