Archibus application

The major items of work that need to be executed to accomplish a specific goal of a domain. For example, "Space Chargeback" is an application whose goal is to proportionately distribute costs based on the proportion of area that a department occupies. To achieve this goal, you execute the tasks of defining cost per area, designating common areas, viewing exception reports, updating area totals, running chargeback calculations, and viewing detailed chargeback analysis reports.

Applications are part of domains. For example, Space Chargeback is an application in the Space domain. The Navigator presents applications by grouping them into domains. From a domain, you drill down to applications and then an application's component processes and tasks.

You primarily work with applications using Archibus Web Central; however, some aspects of application work can be run from the Archibus Smart Client or Archibus Smart Client Extensions for AutoCAD and Revit. Accordingly, these tools also offer the Navigator for presenting an application's tasks.

In the Archibus SaaS offering, applications -- and in some cases entire domains -- are packaged as modules.
