What is Archibus?

Archibus SaaS Modules

When Archibus SaaS sites require more advanced facility management features than those that are offered with Archibus Foundations, they can purchase modules to sit on top of Foundations. An Archibus module is a collection of views, workflow rules, parameters, metrics, and reports to accomplish a facility management goal.

SaaS modules are a packaging of applications and domains. Some SaaS modules are on the application level of the Navigator (such as Condition Assessment), while others are at the domain level (such as Capital Projects).

Archibus SaaS Essentials Modules

Many users expanding from Foundations start with the Archibus SaaS Essential modules, the set of original modules offered for Archibus SaaS deployments.

The Archibus SaaS Essential modules typically combine the most-used tasks and processes of multiple applications of the non-SaaS offering. For example, the Maintenance module streamlines the tasks of the Corrective Work application and the Preventive Maintenance application into one unified module. The Assets module is the exception: the SaaS and non-SaaS offerings present an identical set of tasks.

The Archibus Essentials modules are:

Additional Applications Available in Archibus SaaS

Beginning with Archibus V.26.1, a licensing change made almost all Archibus business applications available to Archibus SaaS. For Archibus V.26.2, the Navigator was updated to reflect Archibus SaaS accessing additional applications. Signing in as sample user AFM-MOD shows a Navigator with all functionality available for Archibus SaaS.

Note that unlike the Archibus SaaS Essential modules, the processes and features of these additional SaaS offerings match exactly the processes and features available in the Archibus non-SaaS deployment. For example, the Condition Assessment processes are the same in both SaaS and non-SaaS.

Omitted Applications

A few of the less-frequently used non-SaaS applications are not offered in Archibus SaaS. These are:

Navigator

The below image shows the Navigator for Archibus SaaS user AFM-MOD, who has access to all modules.

Because the Archibus Essentials / Space module offers all other space-related activities, the Space domain presents only Space Planning (whose functionality is not in Archibus Essentials / Space). The Capital Projects domain, on the other hand, is exactly the same in both Archibus SaaS and the Archibus non-SaaS deployment.

Note: Depending on how many modules you have access to, the Navigator may collapse the Domain level. For information, see the "Task Hierarchy" section in the Navigator help topic.
